Portion of East-Side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road closed
Road construction and snow plowing have caused the Forest Service to close the East-Side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road (Forest Road #38) to all motorized use from the gate just South of Abbot Bay Road (Forest Road #5301) about 5 miles south of Martin City to the gate at mile post 37.5 near Hoke Creek.
Local Organizations Recommended for Trails Program Grants
Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) has recommended 10 local recreation-focused nonprofits to receive nearly $400,000 in funding through the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and Trail Stewardship Grant Program (TSGP) for trail-related projects in 2023.

Snowplows Begin Spring Ritual of Clearing Glacier National Park Roads
After the road opens on May 5, road crew closures will be in place Monday through Thursday during plowing. Visitors may advance to the Avalanche hazard closure when road crews are not working. All pull-outs in the construction zone along Lake McDonald are anticipated to be closed through late fall 2023.
County Seeks Federal Funding to Potentially Pave Lower North Fork Road
“The goal of the surface improvements is not to promote the fastest route to the Camas Entrance, but rather to provide an improved 35-45 mph recreational access road,” the application states. It also adds that better road conditions to the Camas Entrance of Glacier Park could alleviate some of the congestion seen at the West Entrance.”
